No Longer Newly Weds?

So our anniversary was over a week ago and i'm just getting around to posting this.
I've been lazy lately but whatever.
My dear husband and our have officially hit (and now past) the one year mark.
I can honestly say it's been the best year of my life,
and I can't wait for to see what the many years ahead have to hold.
I have learned a great deal about Colin and about myself over this last year. I've learned about compromise, cooking, holding my tongue, and sacrifice. But mostly I learned about love and how it can keep growing more then you ever thought it could.

We took a trip to Boston for our anniversary and to visit Colin's brother and his wife. We had a blast and we're so grateful for Mason and Ashley for putting us up!

We scalped tickets to a Red Sox game and found some decent seats. Go Red Sox!

We spent a couple days in New Hampshire and it was beautiful! I could have stayed there for a couple more months.

It was a fabulous trip and it's been a fabulous year!

pranker

To the 13 year old boy that prank called me at work today saying explicit things which i will not repeat on this family friendly blog,

First of all, you are disgusting. Second, you should get a new alias name, Michael Jackson the king of pop, is dead. Third, you should get a hobby....or a girlfriend.....or a life. Last, you have a strange way of making me hate my job but laughing about it.

Sincerely,
an annoyed customer service representative

Diggity Dig

This was the scene at our house when I came home from class this morning.
Yes, that is a tractor in our front yard.
And yes, that is our bush that was so heartlessly yanked out and thrown aside.
The joys of being homeowners and
getting unexpected leaks in your basement at the most inconvenient times and having to pay someone to dig up your lawn to find the problem.
So fun.

Oh and Happy Easter.
As you can see from this Easter photo, Easter egg hunts can be slightly stressful but we survived.

Finally

We're rich!

Okay so maybe rich is not the word to use, but we did receive our first time home buyer credit in the mail today so we deceivingly feel rich.
We jumped around in the kitchen today when we opened the mail screaming.
(sorry downstairs neighbors, but no not really)

Dear President Obama,

We, the Schmutz's, personally thank you Mr. President,
for finally sending us our credit check.
We've only been in our house a year now.
We're just glad we got it before you've spent all our money
and the government goes bankrupt.

Sincerely,
The Schmutz's.
(doesn't Colin look freaky in this picture?)

we are the champions my friend

(yes he is as sweaty as he appears, and yes I am touching him)

Look at my amazingly athletic, all-star husband. I am a proud wife tonight.
Colin's team pulled out the big win tonight. They are the champions of all the six feet and under teams in all of Provo.
(okay so let's just forget the part about them being in the consolation bracket and only winning two regular season games)
Basically, I was thrilled they won because if they lost they would have to play a second game tonight starting at 8:30. As much as I love these game I was not down with that so I told him that he had to win or else (and other encouraging words to pump him up) and I guess it worked.
They won a T shirt and I thought that was pretty cool under I saw that the losing team got shirts too.
Hmm..whatever, but they have the title at least.
Good season boys.

celebrity siting

Okay I don't know if you would really consider him a celebrity but I would. I came within arms reach of, are you ready for this?
Kyle Korver .

I think I have mentioned on this blog before that I have a crush on him.
Colin said that if the opportunity arose he would be fine if I went out with him and I told him if the opportunity arose he could go out with Jessica Biel (like that is going to happen).
Anyways, we were at the gateway in Salt Lake standing outside of a restaurant with some of Colin's old mission buddies we went out with, then it happened...Kyle and his girlfriend, I suppose because they we holding hands and acting all starry eyed, walked towards us.
Colin noticed him and Kyle tried to pull his hat down to act more conspicuous. Then as they passed us Colin said,
"Hey nice shotting lately Kyle."
and then he said,
"Thank you."
He talked to us!
Well Colin but that basically means me too.
I kind of couldn't stop talking about it the whole night.
I'm pretty sure Colin got jealous. (Love you way move then him babycakes)

moving on....

My bracket is screwed. Colin said that if I beat him we could go to Olive Garden (heavenly food) and he wouldn't complain at all. When a large majority of my teams lost today I asked him if we could still go there and he said sure so now I don't really care how my bracket turns out.

Oh, and go BYU!

Soon....

Can it just be spring already? i would really enjoy that right about now. Also, BYU doesn't have a spring break. Total bummer.
