1st Trimester Down

I am almost 14weeks along now and am officially done with the first trimester of my pregnancy.
So glad it's over.
I think i'm pretty much done with the whole morning sickness thing but everyone once in awhile the nausea will just creep up on me out of the blue.
Overall, I am feeling so much better.
I have more energy then I did before. (which was practically zero)
And I am feeling the urge to do as much as we can this summer because it will be our last as just a couple.
Next summer we will be a family of three. (woah crazy! Still not used to that idea)
Colin just got done with spring semester of school so summer pretty much just started for us. We are excited for some bbq's, house projects, and vacations.

By the way, I just found out Colin doesn't like going to public pools. What the heck?! So since we don't have a pool or really know anyone that does. I will not be going swimming with my husband this summer. bummer.

hope you are all having a happy summer.

we are.

Dads

This is my dad.

My dad is one of the most generous, kind men that I know.
When I was a little girl I remember thinking my dad is way cooler then all my friends dads. (even though I wouldn't tell him that)
I know that he would do just about anything for me.
He has taught me so many valuable lessons that I know have made me who I am today.
Thanks dad. Love.

This is my father-in-law

Can you tell me these men don't look like twins 30 years apart?
Colin may not be fully aware of this but he strives to be just like his dad, and I definitely can not complain about that.
I am certain that Colin would say his dad is one of the best men he's known and I would have to agree.
Love.

And this man will be the father of my children

I know Colin will be a great daddy.
He is so beyond excited for this baby that will be in our lives soon.
I can't wait for the day I can see him holding our little one.
He takes such good care of me I know he will take great care of our family.
I am so grateful that I know our kids will have a worthy priesthood-holding father in their home just like I was blessed with.
Love.

I might as well come out with it.

I know I have been pretty neglectful of this blog lately.

I'm sorry.

I've been extra tired, slightly irritable and in a general state of not feeling good.
You see I have a good reason I promise.

Surprise! (literally surprise)

That little plus sign on that pee stick means we are going to add a little Schmutz to the family come December 30th.

If you are shocked by this don't worry we were too.
But I am now so excited to meet this little thing growing inside of me
that's causing me to puke my guts up and I'm sure once the puking stops (soon I hope!) I'll be even more excited.
And let me also add Colin is the cutest super excited dad to be that I have ever seen.

SUMMA TIME!!!

Summer is finally here and with it has brought campfires, lawn mowing and allergies. I love the warm weather. This weekend Marissa and I cooked some TFD's (tin foil dinners) with Lane/Kim and Scott/Whit. It was awesome. We cooked the potatoes and carrots to perfection. I am convinced that is what makes a good TFD. I have also started golfing again. I forgot how much I love the smell of fresh cut grass and the sound of steel striking the dimpled shell of a golf ball. It is truly intoxicating. I have decided that I am going to play a minimum of two times per week. Marissa doesn't always support me in this, but she let's it slide most of the time. I am going to Scotland in July and am looking forward to playing St. Andrews. Most of you might not know, but Scotland is the birthplace of golf. St. Andrews is one of the oldest and most prestigious golf courses on Earth. I can't wait to tee it up and let it fly. I will let you know how it goes. This also irks Riss because it is a guys only trip and she isn't coming. I know that is harsh, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity! Sorry sweetheart, I love you, hopefully you still love me. Oh and did I mention, Braveheart is one of my favorite movies. We are going to go to the Highlands and take a castle hike. Man, I am stoked!!
Another thing I am looking forward to is getting out of school. I only have two more weeks of grueling studies and then I am free for two months. It is going to be amazing. Once I am out of school, Riss and I look forward to relaxing and yard work.... So i guess there are pluses and minuses of being out of school. But I think the pluses out way the minuses.
So Riss just caught me posting and ruined the moment, I think I am blogged out for the time being.
