Baby Model?

Are you kidding me right now?
Look at this little boy's face. Can you not tell me that's he's adorable?
Looking at that cute smiling face makes me not even mind all the crying and poopy diapers. Okay so it still bothers me sometimes, but seriously he gives me that signature open mouth smile whenever I change a poopy diaper. Like he thinks it's funny that I have to wipe his bum.
Anyways,
My lovely friend Kristin Gaul was kind enough to come photography my little Cooper Trooper.
He was a Champ. Let's just say this guy knows how to work it in front of the camera.

For some more of the pictures you can go to her blog here.
And you are in luck because for the rest of the month if you book a newborn/baby or toddler session with her you get 50% off the sitting fee.

Cooper's blessing day and other stuff

I am going to try to make a real effort to post more often. I honestly enjoy blogging so I don't know why I don't do it more often. Oh, maybe it's because it takes effort and sometimes I'm lazy. But, like I said, I am going to be better.

So Coop Dog went in for his two month appointment last week and guess what? He grew 3 inches, putting him in the 68th percentile for his length! I get that a lot of people probably don't care about this kind of stuff. Honestly, I didn't really care when other people gave these kind of facts before I had a baby. But, as a parent this stuff is really exciting for us. So guess what? You can just stop reading this now if this is boring to you. Okay if you are still reading you may be interested to know he is over 12 lbs now as well. My baby is getting so big. I'm loving his double chin and his fattening thighs. I could kiss them all day long!

We blessed Cooper this last Sunday. We decided to do it at my parents house and I really liked it. It was more intimate and special to just have our family and friends there. Colin did absolutely amazing for a new daddy and I will never forget the special things said in that blessing. I know it was a very special experience for Colin too. I am so lucky to have not only a great husband but he's also just a great daddy to our son. Oh how I love these boys of mine.

Our friend Kim was nice enough to take some pictures of Cooper. Here is some of those pics and also some other cute pictures I unprofessionally took of the kiddo.

Caution: there may be some baby nudity. I had to do the bath tub shot. It's just too cute. Cooper may hate me for it in about 15 years but oh well.

picture overload!

This little guys is 5 weeks old today

Honestly though, it feels like he's been with us much longer then that.
It is so fun to see how much he has changed.
I'm getting to know this little guy and all his little quirks because we get to hang out all day together. Here is some fun things about Cooper.
  • He is a mellow little boy. Most of the time he just sits and looks around with his big eyes, chill as could be.
  • Whenever he throws up he gets this looks on his face like he is embarrassed. His eyes get really big and he holds really still. It is quite funny. (except in the middle of the night when he throws up all over me and the bed, that's not funny)
  • He is a genius. They say babies start socially smiling at about 4 weeks, but I swear this kid was doing it at 2 weeks. What an overachiever.
  • He already doesn't like to be bundled and cuddled too close. He wants his legs and arms free to kick and move or just to sprawl out. When I try to cuddle him too close sometimes he freaks until I put him down and then he is totally content.
  • If you haven't noticed, this kid has quite the hair. It is so long in the back that I catch him all the time pulling his own hair. He will literally grab a chunk and pull, but he seems to like it. weird.
  • We got lots of nick name for him already, including, Coop, Coop Dog, Snooper, Cooper Pooper, Kiddo, Little Man, and Coopie. Poor kid won't know his real name.
  • Cooper is definitely a daddy's boy. I try so hard to make him smile doing ridiculous voices and I hardly get anything but when Colin comes home he lights up and is all smiles. Drives me nuts, but I must admit it's cute.Take a look for yourself..

We are so blessed to have this kiddo. He is so cool. I told Colin I think Heavenly Father knew that for the first one I needed a really good baby or may not have any more kids. It's a good thing we got him!

He's some cute pictures of the Coop Dog.

Oh and Cooper got a new cousin. My sister Cami had her baby last week.
Cooper and Anna are almost exactly a month apart. When we put them next to each other I almost died. My little Cooper looked like a giant! He has grown so much already.
Here is evidence of the hair pulling!

So the big news of the last month has of course been Cooper but there has been other things going on the past month.

Let's see..

Colin's been sick with the flu once and some stomach bug/food poisoning once as well.

I've had kidney stones (yes kidney stones) which required a trip to the emergency room and some strong pain killers.
It was the second most painful thing of my life. The first being childbirth. And they both happened within a month. So not fair. I don't want to be back in the hospital for a long time.

Our fridge broke. It just died and all our food went bad. It was a sad day. I cried. (literally. I blame it on the postpartum hormones) We now have a new fridge and after a long trip the
grocery store it is fully stocked again.

And last but not least Colin's dad has been called to serve as a mission president an
d we have been anxiously awaiting the call to see when they will be going. It came today and they will be serving in... The Philippines! Cebu City in the Philippines to be exact. How crazy is that!?
So we will be spending next Christmas on the sunny beaches of the Philippines.
Congrats Evan and Cindy!

As these pictures show we were all a little surprised.

My Little Guy

It is literally amazing how this...

(morning of the induction. Don't mind my double chin. I'm a week overdue, okay?)

can turn into this..... We went into the hospital and 6:30 AM last Thursday and at 10:33 PM this little man came into the world
Giving birth was unlike anything I imagined and was something almost unexplainable.
It was such special experience.
The day after Cooper was born I kept saying to Colin,
"that was really hard. I can't believe I did that."
And I still can't believe that I grew this little boy and brought him into the world.
We are so lucky that he was born healthy and so perfect.
I still just look at him in amazement.

I feel like my life completely changed in the last week.
It has been quite the adjustment.
This little boy just wants to eat and eat.
It's funny how something so small can rule your life.
But I'm okay with that.
I just want to stare at him and snuggle him all day long.

It's crazy that we are parents now and while it feels weird it also feels natural.
Colin has taken to be a daddy very well and I feel like I might be getting a hang of the mommy thing.

Here is some pictures of my little guy.

My sweet friend Whitney Smith was nice enough to come a take pictures of the little guy. Her skills are amazing and I must say Cooper being so good looking helps too.

Also, my awesome friend Kristin Gaul came and took some pictures too. Cooper was acting like such a model.
Can this little boy get any cuter? Personally I don't think so.

Waiting....

So today is December 30th...... The day I've been waiting for for about 9 months.
My due date.
And no baby.
I'm realizing this baby has his own schedule that I cannot control, which bothers me.
I don't like not being in control.
I'm fairly certain he will a January baby.
Maybe a New Years baby! Wouldn't that be kind of cool?
But I'm not holding my breath.
I have this terrible feeling that I might be pregnant for another full week.
And I thought this was the longest week of my life.
I'm done with work now so I am just chilling at home...
waiting. waiting. waiting.
Today I think I'll clean my shower (maybe that will put me into labor), do the dishes and take a long nap.
Anytime now baby boy.

4 more weeks to go

I am a lazy blogger. Yep. Oh well. I would like to say I will be better once the baby comes but I can't make any promises.
Anyways, a little update on our lives.
  • We just got back from Las Vegas where we spent Thanksgiving with Col's family. It was so fun and we had a blast, but my poor ankles (or should I say Cankles?) did not love the drive, oh well, it was totally worth it.
  • My sweet friends Whitney and Kim through me a baby shower and I got some really cute gifts for baby boy. Thanks girls.
  • I cut my hair. I promised myself I would grow it out the whole pregnancy but I'm weak and gave in and cut it. And you know what? I'm happy I did.
  • It's December! December in this house doesn't just mean Christmas time, it means baby time! We finally made it to the month we've been waiting a long time for and just watch, this baby won't even make his debut until January. I really really want him to come this year so cross your fingers for us.
  • Oh and I'm freaking huge. I didn't realize how big I was until I looked at this picture. Woah! This little booger is running out of room in there and I can feel it. I just cannot wait until he is out of my belly and in my arms. Just 4 weeks or just 28 days to go but who's counting right?
36 weeks

I just realized this whole post is talking about the pregnancy or the babe. Can you tell it's all that's on my mind right now?
