Lucky me

I'm feeling very grateful today, don't know why really. I guess it's just one of those days where I realize life is good. It's crazy and it's hectic and sometimes I feel completely overwhelmed and out of control but it is good. I realized I'm pretty dang lucky. I have nothing that I can really complain about when i consider everything. I have everything I ever need. My wonderful, amazing, thoughtful, ravishingly good looking looking husband. The gospel of Jesus Christ and all the many blessing that come from my Heavenly Father and an awesome family that loves me. I need to stop and count my blessing more often. Here are a few other things I'm grateful at the moment.

1. Food (just went grocery shopping for the first time in like a month, lazy i know. A full fridge is so nice.)
2. My opportunity to go to school right now. I complain that I hate it and most of the time I do but occasionally I remember I actually enjoy getting smarter.
3. My husband. I know I already kind of said this one but he is amazing. He does the laundry, cleans the house, cleans out my car, turns off football when I am around even though I know he wants to watch it really bad, doesn't complain about me hitting snooze about times every morning, and calls me at work just to tell me he loves me and thinks I'm hott. He's definitely a keeper, let me tell you.
4. Fall Leaves.
5. The absolutely gorgeous place I live.
6. Cookie dough chocolate milk shakes late at night.
7. My backyard with all the many trees bushes and weeds.
8. My awesome mom that will go out of her way to go pick some pictures I ordered at costco because I don't have a costco card.
9. Good friends that no matter how long it's been since you seen them last when you do it's just like old times.
10. Vanilla flavored candles
11. Our down syndrome neighbor that comes to visit us EVERY day without fail.
12. My new coat that I decided I need.
13. Pumpkins
14. My Testimony
15. Push over teachers that cancels an assignment because someone in the class complains
16. My piece of crap laptop that will die any day but is staying alive because it must know that we can't afford to replace it.
17. My working able body
18. I can cook (I'm learning slowly and surely)
19. my toothbrush and floss.
20. My SaviorYes, this is my crazy disgusting husband and I love him.

my baby is a fast learner

I love flowers around the house. A vase full of flowers in my kitchen makes my heart happy and plus a girl always wants a man to buy her flowers. I would love it to be a surprise but I'll settle for less if I must. So I started subtly with my man.

Me: Wouldn't it be nice to have some flowers around the house? It would really bring some life to this place.

Colin: yeah it would, you should buy some.

Me: (Silence)

He wasn't exactly getting the point. I don't want to buy my own flowers. When people see them and say,"What beautiful flowers" I want to say, "Yeah my awesome husband bought them for me. Isn't he just so sweet?!" Maybe I am unrealistic. I mean I can't expect every night for him to come home with a bouquet of roses, kiss my feet, and serenade me with a song about how lucky he is to have me. (even though that would be awesome, probably not realistic.)

Anways, one day we were in a little disagreement. I don't even remember what it was about but all the sudden (don't even know where it came from) I throw in, "Well you don't even buy me flowers!" So rude I know. Colin seemed to be confused by this and didn't really respond to it. He was probably racking his brain trying to remember if i had told him to buy me flowers. (I clearly had but I guess not in man language)

So maybe a week later, we are chilling at home and Colin says he has to go Lowe's (he really meant Home Depot, he gets them mixed up a lot but I always correct him to his annoyment) I volunteer to stay home and hold down the fort because he always spends a million years in there. When he comes home he walks in with the most beautiful bouquet of grocery store flowers I've ever seen. The man bought me flowers! I was so happy. He is a sweetie even if i takes a little bit of probing.

So my flowers sit on my kitchen table where I admire them often and there they will stay until they are completely dead. My baby is a fast learner. When your wife says some flowers around the house would look nice, this means buy me some freaking flowers or pay for it.

slight problem

So I have a problem...

I always want to go shopping.
I always want to by new things.
I always want to spend money.

The reason this is a problem is because we are poor starving students and don't have money to spend. I have been refraining from going on a shopping spree for a very long time, mostly because Colin always wants to by new things and as the responsible wife I have to restrain him and remind him of what is most important....my fall wardrobe. Ok no not really. If I told him that he would be super bugged. He thinks I already have way too many clothes. Just because I overly fill my closet, a dresser, and the whole bedroom floor with clothes does not mean that I don't need more right?

I did not used to have this problem, because whenever I had an itching for something new I would go out and buy something and my needs would be satisfied. All I'm saying is Colin better watch his wallet. A girl can only restrain herself so long. And since I've gone without for so long I'm going to need a lot to satisfy my needs.

ps I want these boots

School Sucks, Fall Rocks

So I'm coming to realize being in school is way less fun that not being in school. I love learning new things and being productive in that way, but homework and writing papers sucks! But I love this fall weather that we recently got a peek of. Fall is my favorite season. I love wearing sweaters which I can finally start doing again.

Here's Colin ready to go to school. So scandalous as you can tell by his face. Isn't he a cute little school boy with his backpack and glasses?

We went camping with some of our friends. It was so fun! I think Colin (and trev) live for being up in the mountains and building fires. Luckily no bears ate us even though we left the food out over night. I insisted that we out it in the car but the boys seemed to think my fear of bears was childish or staged... both very false. We only got rained on a little bit in the morning.. ok kind of a lot but it was still fun.

Brad Paisley! I freaking love you. The concert was so awesome, and a way better option that whatever else was going on that night (the terrible BYU game) I know Colin was kind of bummed at first about missing the game but after listening to it on the way up we were completely satisfied with our decision. Brad was amazing. I only rained a little bit haha.
I made a cake! okay so it doesn't look professional but it freaking took me all night and it tasted delicious. After one failed cake (don't ask) I ended up with this beautiful chocolate strawberry cake. Cake decorating may not be in my future. I don't think I possess those skills.

Hey Listen Kanye

Dear Mr Kanye West-

Kanye West, let me tell you something, you are so mean! Why would you do that to innocent Taylor swift? Why would you ever think it is okay to jump on stage and say whatever you want? Did they call your name? I don't think. Just because you are a celebrity and you make some semi cool music and you have zig zag hair doesn't mean you can do whatever you want. And yes Beyonce's video was cool but if you wouldn't have been a freak and stayed in your seat you would see that she wins later. And you looked like a fool on Jay Leno too, just so you know. So here's a little tip why don't you do something to win award so you can get on stage and have your glory and all that attention you crave, instead of having to steal someone else's moment.

Sincerly,

A concerned fan
